About the Clearwater Fly Casters
The Clearwater Fly Casters is a member club of Fly Fishers Internatinal and Trout Unlimited. The membership consists of men and women who live in Pullman, Washington, Moscow, Idaho, and the surrounding area interested in the sport of fly fishing. The membership includes anglers of all levels of ability, ranging from beginners to internationally recognized experts. In addition to the sport itself, members are involved in related environmental and conservation issues such as fish and wildlife habitat protection and restoration. These efforts generally focus on local conservation issues, particularly those related to fishing areas in central and eastern Washington and northern Idaho.
Monthly meetings, are held at the University Best Western in Moscow, ID on the second Wednesday of the month October through May. The monthly meetings usually focus on issues related to local fishing waters, fishing and travel opportunities farther afield, and conservation and environmental topics. The monthly program begins with a social hour at 5:30 followed by dinner at 6:30 and the program starts at 7:30 p.m. Guests are welcome at all meetings. The September meeting is a BBQ picnic held at a members residents or at a local park.
During the year there is an annual "fish outing" at one of the local lakes in April or May and a weekend fishing trip to one of the region's rivers (such as the St. Joe or Kelly Creek) in July or August.
The club's annual dues are $25.00 for individuals, $35.00 for families, $10 for students, $300 lifetime, and $50 sustaining. Dues run from September through August.
